A new record has been set by Aminiasi Tavailagi of Ratu Kadavulevu School in the Sub Junior Boys Long Jump, and he has also qualified for the 100 metres finals tomorrow.

Tavailagi’s jump of 6.03 metres broke the old record of 5.84 metres set by Paula Nasara of Natabua High School in 2015.

He says

there were lots of sleepless nights and early morning training sessions to get to today.

Tavailagi says his uncle and grandmother came to support him today and they were overjoyed with his win.

Keleto Loboilagi of Nasikawa Vision College got silver, while Asalusi Raloka of Ba Sanatan College had to settle for bronze
