The internet was recently taken a storm by a photo shared by local mobile restaurant, The Fiji Food Truck, entailing a story about three young girls’ hilarious and wholesome demands for food.
Owner and frequent chef of the food vehicle, Randall Kamea shared his experience of the encounter with the three students at Nadi Muslim Primary School. It appeared as if the girls had been saving this lunch money or spending money for their afternoon treat which, admittedly, is something most of us have done in our youth.
While the two pictured wearing uniforms were awfully quiet, the student wearing mufti on the far right was the talkative one of the bunch aka The Ringleader. She had looked the menu up and down browsing for something affordable for the trio to indulge in. After perusing the written food list, the “Ringleader” asked Kamea if any meals were sold for $1. Kamea shared a giggle with another customer who was lined up behind the girls.
“Yeah you can get a chicken burger for $1”, Kamea answered. Assuming that the students would share a single chicken burger meal, Randall was caught off guard by the young girl asking for 3 “$1” burger meals. Much to his delight, Kamea, who was covering for the head chef yesterday, ended up preparing their meals.
Recapping the innocently humorous event, Kamea stated “We actually had a bad start to our day so it was a great way to end it and a good reminder that whenever something bad happens we shouldn’t dwell on it as we often miss so many other good opportunities.” He then thanked the young females for giving them the opportunity to finish the day in a very “Fiji” way and would like to remind others to “share the Bula spirit with everyone else!”
Additionally, the workers and Randall himself have been on the receiving end of heartfelt messages and comments from followers extending their well wishes for the business which has left them “very touched.”
The Fiji Food Truck offers a plethora of comfort foods including burgers, wraps, cheesy nachos and roasted meat such as chicken and pork. You can find them at Nasoso opposite the Fiji Airways Hangar operating from Tuesday to Saturday. Check them out for a mean feed.
