Now before we carry on, let’s just clarify that Millenials are actually people who were born from 1981 to 1996. There seems to be a lot of confusion about this generation and what age gap really belongs here, so let’s just move that out of the way before we continue.

Now that that’s clear, get ready to feel old.

Today, Drix and Penny were talking about things that they grew up with that their younger siblings wouldn’t probably recognize because they were either babies when those things were around or they were born after.

One of those things was floppy disks.

Yes. The good old floppy disk that we all used to store and transport documents in. The floppy disk which the “Save” icon on computers nowadays has modeled after.

This came as a shock to both of them as Esther (who is a Gen Z) was told to click on the “floppy disk” icon on the computer right before admitting that she didn’t know what that was.

Another thing would be VHS tapes.

Now, this can be a hit or miss as some of the Gen Z’ers would recognize it if they can still remember what they were.

Below is a list of things that you can probably test a Gen Z’er on by asking if them if they know what they are or not:

  • Cassettes
  • Film canisters
  • Word Art Gallery
  • Burning CDs
  • Game Boys
  • Discman
  • N’Sync

If they say they don’t recognize most of the things on that list, then congratulations! You’re officially old.
