Two students and a 35-year-old woman are in police custody after they were found with dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Police say Police Constable Maciu Temo and K9 Spike were deployed to assist with a report of a break-in at Yaladro in Ba.

They say when the K9 team arrived at the scene, K9 Spike trekked for more than a kilometre, leading the officers to the 25-year-old woman’s home, where she was with her 16-year-old daughter and a 17-year-old friend.

Police officers also searched the 16-year-old daughter’s school bag and found dried leaves wrapped in a cloth and small plastics containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

The three were taken in for questioning as investigations continue.
