Working on a Cruise Ship is something most Fijians dream of, but for one person it is a reality.
Susannah Marama who hails from Naloto, Verata, Tailevu never imagined that one day she would be travelling the world let alone on a Cruise Ship. Susana started her career at sea 14 years ago onboard P&O Cruises Australia as a Youth Staff. Through sheer determination and hard work, she has worked her way up the ranks and was promoted to Entertainment Director last year. As of now, she holds a corporate position and frequently travels between 3 of P&O Australia’s ships.
Sailing the high seas and being a true inspiration to many Fijians, she urges the people of her beloved nation to pursue their dreams whether big or small. For our hotel workers in Fiji, especially in the Kids Club and Youth Staff, a huge number of cruise liners cater for families and this could even be an opportunity for you.
Na vasu ni Vanua o Vuda, She was raised in Lauwaki Village, Lautoka, and her story of trusting God, perseverance and dedication is truly remarkable.
