It’s safe to say that Adi Cakobau School has created some of Fiji’s most amazing and incredible women whether it be leaders in their different fields of work or being stay-at-home Mothers.

Adi Cakobau School was founded in 1948 by the Fijian Government as a boarding school to provide an intermediate education for Fijian Girls. It was named after the granddaughter of Seru Epenisa Cakobau, the King of Fiji who united the islands under his authority in 1871 and ceded the nation to the United Kingdom three years later. It became a full-fledged secondary school in 1954.

Over the years the school has groomed and created some of Fiji’s best athletes and has won accolades from The Coca-Cola Games countless times. Not only have they dabbled in Track & Field but also in other sports such as Rugby, Netball and etc.

Celebrating its 76th Birthday this year the school has come a long way from when it started opening its doors to not only Itaukei students but to different ethnicities alike.
