A woman who was illiterate at age 16 is set to graduate from university with first-class honours.

This week, Chloe McRoberts of the United Kingdom will graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University with a social work degree.

Before leaving school without a diploma, the 26-year-old suffered from “erratic behaviour” and had difficulty getting access to learning aids.

She had to start over from scratch at a project supported by the council, and she now aspires to help other kids.

She continued to be unable to get the necessary learning support at secondary school.

Even though her mother left her work to help support her daughter, Ms. McRoberts finally dropped out of school without receiving a diploma.

She was motivated to catch up despite feeling that she had slipped behind her friends.

She is currently employed by a disability team that assists students from several schools.
