There are many horror stories about businesses monitoring workers who work from home using tracking software, but one woman found herself on the other end of the practice.

Suzie Cheikho had been employed by an Australian insurance company for 18 years when worries about her performance led to the creation of an improvement plan.

She was given a plan to enhance her work in November 2022, but on February 20, 2023, she was let go. Her old employer tracked the number of keystrokes she had made throughout the day using tracking software before the review.

She was sacked when they determined she wasn’t producing enough. Cheikho was astounded by her firing.
