During a “near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi” in New York City, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were both injured.

“Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms Ragland were involved in a nearly fatal car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” a spokeswoman for the pair said. Over the course of this unrelenting pursuit, which lasted more than two hours, there were numerous close calls with other motorists, pedestrians, and two NYPD policemen.

“While being a public figure comes with a level of interest from the public, it should never come at the cost of anyone’s safety,” the representative for Prince Harry and Meghan continued.

A further statement from the spokesman read, “Dissemination of these images, given the ways in which they were obtained, encourages a highly intrusive practice that is dangerous to all involved.”
