On Chinese social media, a man from China gained popularity for spending the entire night on his knees in the rain pleading with his ex-lover to take him back.
The unnamed man stayed outside his ex-girlfriend’s office building in Dazhou, Sichuan province, on his knees for 21 hours straight, from 1 p.m. on March 28 until 10 a.m. the next day.
Locals gathered around him to record and nag him to get up from his knees as he begged his ex to take him back.
Police were called after bystanders reported the incident, and they also attempted to get him to leave.
The man reportedly asked officers, “Is it unlawful for me to kneel down here? Please do not interfere with me if it is not prohibited.
Many people have condemned the man’s “extreme” and “self-serving” actions in response to his pleading, which has gone viral.
Is this an alternate display of affection or subtle guilt-tripping?
