The first time Mark Owen Evans was listed in the Guinness Book of Records was in 2017 when it was revealed that he has 267 tattoos of his daughter’s name. He was overthrown in 2020, though, by Diedra Vigil, a 27-year-old woman with 300 tattoos of her own name.

Evans started writing his daughter Lucy’s name on his thighs even though there wasn’t much room left on his back because he was motivated to regain his world record.

Mark once again holds the Guinness record for the most tattoos of the same name on the body, with 667, after spending five and a half hours getting all 400 tattoos—200 on each leg.

Evans claimed that he came up with the unorthodox record-setting concept as a way to commemorate the birth of his daughter. On his back, he originally intended to have it tattooed 100 times, but owing to the two skilled tattoo artists working on the project, he now has 267 name tattoos. It’s impressive how quickly the two artists from Dexterity Ink in Wrexham, UK, finished it.

It’s interesting to note that Florida-based entertainer Funky Matas holds the record for having the most signatures tattooed on his body with 225 on his back.
