According to recent rumours, Liam Hemsworth may be suing Miley Cyrus for slander.
After supposedly nearly losing his part in the upcoming “The Witcher” series due to Miley Cyrus’ new single “Flowers,” the actor is apparently going the legal way.
According to Aceshowbiz, the 33-year-old actor filed a “suit for defamation of character” because he apparently disagrees with the singer’s supposed reference to him in her popular new song.
Liam mentioned Miley as a defendant in documents that were hacked and then made their way onto Twitter. He reportedly filed the motion just before his contract with the television series “The Witcher” was going to expire.
The filing’s news triggered a discussion among enthusiasts online. A tweet stated that Liam must have a guilty conscience if he believes the song is about him because Miley never claimed it was about him. This would also never hold up in court, the comment added.
Another person said, “Liam Hemsworth probably isn’t suing Miley Cyrus, but if he is: 1) Her admirers are to blame for fabricating the nonsense about him, such as cheating 14 times in the house from the “Flowers” video. 2) Johnny Depp established a precedent for suing individuals even when they did not violate the law.”
Elsa Pataky, Chris Hemsworth’s wife and Liam’s sister-in-law, spoke up about the alleged conflict between the ex-couples.
In a recent interview with the Spanish magazine Europa Press, Pataky discussed the popular song and expressed her support for her brother-in-law. It’s an extremely dated subject for us, she continued, adding, “If anyone should speak, it should be Liam, but I believe she [Cyrus] may do what she wants.”
