Hard work and Sacrifice are the recipes for success but when you pair them up with extra effort then you’ll be unstoppable. Fiji-born Sulita Waisega says playing in the boys competition in Netherlands has helped her develop her rugby skills.

Waisega moved to the Netherlands with her family when she was 3-years-old and started playing rugby at a young age.

She says

she carried on playing in the boys competition despite reaching the age to switch to the girls category because she wanted to challenge herself in a competitive environment.

18-year-old Waisega is one of the overseas-based players that are part of the Fijiana 15s training squad for the Oceania Championship in New Zealand next month.

Coach Senirusi Seruvakula says from the 30 players that are training, 28 play will be selected to travel to New Zealand.

The team will play Papua New Guinea, Samoa and Tonga at the Oceania Championships which starts on the 9th of July.

It’s safe to say that each Fijiana has a story of their own and they all chase the dream of representing the Great F1J1.
