After Portugal’s World Cup loss to Morocco this past weekend, Cristiano Ronaldo broke down in tears. This may be the final World Cup he ever plays in.
The soccer star visibly wept Saturday after the final whistle in Qatar, this as he made his way off the field and through the tunnel back to the locker rooms. He, like the rest of his team, was clearly upset after the Moroccan National Team knocked them out with a 1-0 score.
Similar to the match against Switzerland, Ronaldo actually started the game on the bench but eventually entered the action in the second half.
He didn’t score, though, and neither did the rest of the team. Youssef En-Nesyri of Morocco scored a goal in the 42nd minute, which is very reminiscent of what CR (nearly) did against Uruguay a few games ago.
Portugal obviously made numerous attempts to score, but Yassine Bounou of Morocco was able to stop them. One of the team’s heroes is being praised for him.
