Six60 is one of the biggest musical acts in Aotearoa right now, just imagine being in that concert. Better yet imagine being part of the whole thing. Let’s turn the spotlight to an uprising all Fijian NZ based band the “LeftOvas”, that have secured the spot to open for SIX60 at their concert.
Who are the LeftOvas?
The LeftOvas band has an interesting backstory which start with a grog session that turned into something special. The band is made up of musicians from Fiji and are known in the Fiji Music scene. It started off with Josateki Koroituicakau who the son of Georgina Ledua and John Randolf is along with Vegas 6 drummer Jordan. The band then had the duo Miles & Melita coming together for an event. The band grew bigger with the inclusion of brothers Semiti Namelo, Sanaila Vasua and Eugene Teulilo who mind you used play drums for Sammy J.
The boys smooth sound gives us the feeling of ease with the many different genres they explore like RnB, Reggae, Soul and Jazz but leaning heavily towards to RnB.

How did it happen?
The band snag that coveted opening spot at the SIX60 concert, by creating their own history by winning the Moana Open Mic Music competition in Auckland. Talk about a major win!
In an interview with FM96 Josateki “Tekii” Koroituicakau shared that they were still buzzing being a band being born and bred in Fiji and connected through the love of music and watching these other bands and artists.
Tekii says
sharing the stage with Six60 is a massive achievement for the band and our families and the Fijian people. A blessing to the Almighty father for giving them the success even though they are just a year old.
What can we expect from Leftovas?
Besides the concert, the boys are planning on writing some originals and release a few covers. So, we can only expect the best from whatever the boys have up their sleeves.
We just can’t wait to hear their music blasting on the radio.
