With Lionsgate Television, a TV show based on Stephanie Meyer’s Twilight books (and the wildly successful movies) is formally under production.
In case you were living under a rock from 2005 to 2012, the books and movies in the Twilight series tell the love story of Bella Swan, a suburban wallflower, Edward Cullen, a ravishingly handsome vampire, and Jacob Black, her best friend turned potential love interest and, you guessed it, a shape-shifting werewolf.
The show is still in its early stages and lacks a dedicated network, platform, or writer in charge of it. There is also no set date for when viewers of the series can anticipate the episode to air.
Stephanie Meyer is anticipated to participate in the future adaptation, much as she did for the series’ first four movies.
One of the most (financially) successful book-to-screen adaptations ever produced, the film franchise featured a then-relatively unknown trio of Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner. It has amassed over $3.4 billion in worldwide box office revenue.
