Let’s face it.
Gossiping is a past time in almost every culture. It’s a tale as old as time, a song as old as rhyme, and it doesn’t seem to be going extinct anytime soon.
People have glamourized it on the big and little screens with movies and tv shows so the fact of the matter is that regardless of somebody’s negative feelings towards it, there will always be someone else who absolutely loves it.
If you’re the type of person to see yourself as better than others because you don’t participate in gossip, than you’re probably the topic of gossip in somebody’s conversation. The irony of it all!
The reason why I think Gossip would make a great Olympic Sport is because if you’re going to be good at something, might as well earn medals for it.
Think about it!
The event isn’t limited to gender, it involves your ability in subtly spreading information, and your measure of success is influencing the most amount of people with the information that you’re disseminating and how well you can hold their attention for.
Rules are simple; the information must be true and the event ends when the subject of your topic finds out who the main source is.
The only person to still be kept anonymous wins the event. Second and third place will depend on the amount of people that were influenced to spread the “gossip” before the “subject” found out who the main source was.
This is great for people whose only skill in life is to spread information about other people.
If you know somebody who would win Gold in this event, let us know in the comments.
