The idea of a tropical cyclone is something none of us are looking forward, but for the most part, it can mean that school and work is put on hold.

This was definitely the case when TC Mal made an appearance over Fiji in the past few days.

This morning, it was confirmed that Mal was slowly moving out of the Fiji area and not too long ago, it has downgraded to a Cat 2 cyclone while the flash flood alerts have been canceled.

This obviously means that things are back to normal from tomorrow onwards and by the comments on social media, a lot of Fijians were dreading going back to the real world.

Regardless of how we all feel, the show must go on!

Here are a few things you can do to get your mind back in the game when you go back to work or school tomorrow.

  1. GO TO BED EARLY!

A lot of us are just getting used to staying up late because we didn’t have to come to work for two days, but because the working day will go back to normal tomorrow, it’s best you get as much rest as you can. A well rested brain is a more productive brain.

2. DON’T GIVE IN TO THE GROG PLANS!

Your friends are probably already hitting you up with “Vacava” messages. As tempting as this sounds, you would not want to go back to work tomorrow feeling like a 10 ton truck just ran you over!

But if you’re adamant in having a baby mix with your friends, don’t go all out and try to keep it to at least 1 baby mix.

3. WRITE DOWN A TO-DO LIST!

When you know exactly what you’re going to do for the work day, you’ll feel a bit more productive because you already have a feel of what your day is going to be like. It helps to set the mood as well on top of the fact that it’s proven to be very proficient.

4. MINIMIZE SCREEN TIME!

Most of the things on this list is basically just ways to help you get as much rest as you can. Minimizing screen time can do exactly that! It’s pretty ironic though since you’re reading this list on the screen I’m telling you to get less of, but I guess this is your reminder.

5. MEAL PREP!

If you’re the type of person to be in a foul mood when you don’t eat, then I highly recommend meal prepping for your day tomorrow. It’s also proven many times that when you have food ready made for you from home, you’ll have a more productive day at work because you’ll already be looking forward to it.

Those are just some things to help you prepare your mental and physical state for tomorrow’s day.

If you have any suggestions that you want to add to the list, feel free to list them in the comments section.
