Originally intended to be a celebration of her ten classic albums and a look back at her nearly two-decade career, Taylor Swift’s Eras tour was born. With $780 million in ticket sales already, it has become an unheard-of financial phenomenon and is quickly approaching its goal of being the highest-grossing tour ever.
The 33-year-old pop princess has now entered a new era as a result of it: she is a billionaire and the first performer to reach the top purely through her songs and live performances. Swift’s estimated net worth is over $1.1 billion, up $360 million from June when Forbes listed her as the 34th richest self-made woman in America.
Her wonderful summer is largely responsible for that rise. After taxes, she took home an estimated $190 million from the first leg of the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour plus an additional $35 million from the film’s first two weeks of release.
Swift has amassed a wealth of over $500 million from her tours and recording royalties. She owns $125 million in real estate, which includes six houses and a $10 million private jet, and an additional $500 million based on the increasing value of her song repertoire.
Swift’s representatives did not respond to several requests for comment from Forbes.
