Not everybody is a great cinema goer and we’ll be talking about why that is in this article.
Personally, I’d rather watch movies at home than at the cinema, which wasn’t always the case but for the very reason that some people just don’t have the proper etiquette and respect that you need to have when you’re watching a movie in a public theatre.
If you are one of those people that love to make noise in the cinema, please just read this with some conviction for the next time you go watch a movie.
First of all, one of the things that you need to realize is that there are OTHER PEOPLE, actual human beings that will be sitting in there with you that came to watch the same movie you’re watching as well.
Secondly, not everybody will find it funny that you cracked a joke during the movie’s quiet part. Chances are, it will be the driest joke in the world and the only people that will be laughing are the friends you came with that have jokes that are equally as dry as yours.
Third, TURN THE BRIGHTNESS OF YOUR PHONE DOWN! Your phone was bought FOR YOU! Not for everybody around you. If you’re gonna check your phone during the movie, keep in mind that the lights are off and the only thing lighting up the room is the movie playing on the screen so the brightness level on your phone is pretty distracting. Nobody wants to see you lying to your boyfriend that you’re at home when you’re really at the movies with your side piece.
FOURTH, if you’re gonna bring your kid and they start crying, nobody will be angry with the kid. Everybody will be angry with you for not taking that kid out to comfort them so that everyone else who paid to watch the movie in peace are getting their money’s worth. Also, is the movie really more important than your kid’s comfort? Let’s just be real for a second!
Fifth, asking questions about a movie that you don’t understand is understandable, but the least you can do is do a little bit of research before you jump into it headfirst.
Now, I know it sounds like I have harbored feelings about people who make noise in the cinema and that’s right. That is exactly what’s happening, but that doesn’t mean that I should be dictating how a person expresses their feelings when they’re watching a movie, but if you’re a loud movie watcher, then might as well just watch the movie at home … or hire out the whole cinema so that it’s just you in there.
