Starting a brand new academic year can give you a rush of emotions,(you’re nervous, excited, scared etc) especially if it’s a new year in a new school…we’ve all been there. Here’s some big sister back-to-school advice to help you or someone you’re guiding through the school year:
1. Be Yourself
Don’t feel pressured to fit into anyone else’s mold. Embrace your quirks and interests, and you’ll find the people who genuinely like you for who you are. Confidence in being yourself is magnetic!
2. Stay Organized
Keep a planner or digital calendar for assignments, tests, and activities. A little organization goes a long way in reducing stress and staying on top of things.
3. Ask for Help
If you’re struggling with homework, a social situation, or anything else, don’t hesitate to ask for help—whether it’s from a teacher, friend, or family member.
4. Be Kind
A kind word or small gesture can make someone’s day. Compliment someone’s outfit, invite a new student to sit with you, or smile. It creates a positive vibe around you and makes school more enjoyable.
5. Take Care of Yourself
Prioritize sleep, eat well, and take breaks when you need them. Burnout is real, so listen to your body and mind to stay healthy and happy.
6. Try New Things
Join a club, try out for a team, or volunteer for a project. School is the perfect place to explore different activities and discover what you love.
7. Remember, It’s Okay to Mess Up
You’ll have days that don’t go as planned—perfectly fine. Learn from the mistakes, laugh it off, and keep moving forward.
Finally, make memories! School goes by faster than you think, so enjoy the friendships, silly moments, and all the little things along the way. 💖
