After Saudi Arabia’s famous win over favorites Argentina at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, King Salman announced a national holiday on Wednesday.

According to The Athletic, the king said:
It is directed that tomorrow, Wednesday, be a holiday for all employees in all sectors of the state and the private sector, and male and female students in all educational stages.
Argentina’s shocking loss to Saudi Arabia has come off as a surprise to the world as Argentina were dubbed favorites. But, Lionel Messi has vowed to come back stronger as the tournament only gets tougher.
It’s a very heavy blow, a defeat that hurts, but we must continue to have confidence in ourselves. This group is not going to give up. We will try to beat Mexico.
That’s got to show how tough the competition is as all teams aim for glory.
