We’ve been waiting seven long years for this woman to release a new album, but she hasn’t come out with anything since 2016 and it physically hurts!!
We won’t even count Lift Me Up since that was specifically for the Black Panther 2 movie, so that one we’ll chalk it up to her fulfilling an obligation to the MCU as well as Chadwick Boseman, may he rest in peace.
After her Super Bowl performance this year, a lot of people were curious as to whether she was gonna release new music or not, but after speaking to Vogue UK, she said,
“I want it to be this year. Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos. And I need the right background music with the visuals. I can’t just go shoot a video of me talking.”
This got everyone excited.
As the demand for a new album became more and more obvious, especially in the online world, she made sure to let her fans know that a new album release is still in the pipeline, it’s just not as imminent as people expect it to be.
“Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing. Do you hear that, fans?”
