India wants to promote low carbon transport…and mahn wouldn’t it be cool if could have them too!

So India is bringing in electric buses to nearly 170 cities…it’s aiming for a national fleet of 50,000 electric buses and has just announced a scheme to deploy 10,000 over the next decade. In 169 cities across the country, the $7 billion plan also includes charging ports and infrastructure.

Promoting low-carbon transport, reducing fuel imports and promoting industrial opportunities for building electric vehicles are some of India’s goals.

A 100 fleet of electric buses has already been launched in the City of Delhi, electrifying all of Delhi’s fleet would reduce bus emissions by 75%, a study showed.
