So let’s take it back to a night in 2015 when Traps had a back bar.

One of my friends invited me to Traps for a few drinks and when I got there, there was already a small crowd forming in the back bar.

I didn’t think much of it because it was a Friday night and it’s not new for Traps to crowd up like that during the weekend.

We chilled in the middle bar for a bit and then my friend goes, “Hey you wanna meet my uncle?”

It was a little random, but I was like, “Yeah sure.”

My friend then takes me to the back bar and maneuvers his way through the little crowd that was forming in the middle of the room.

At this point, I’m wondering, “What the heck? Where is this guy taking me?”

Just when I was about to tell him for us to turn back around, he goes, “Penny, this is my Uncle George. Uncle George, this is Penny.”

You can imagine my surprise when I turn to shake his uncle’s hand just to find out that his Uncle George was none other than GEORGE FIJI VEIKOSO!!!

I just turned to my friend and squeezed his hand with an “Are you serious right now, bro” expression on my face.

He just smiled and said, “Go on, say hi.”

Lord knows how much I wanted to just melt into the ground, but George Fiji was so warm and welcoming. He shook my hand and said, “Hello, Penny. Wow you’re a gorgeous little thing, aren’t you?”

Bro! BRO! BROOOOO! When I tell you I was over the moon, I was over the friggin moon!

One of my biggest regrets, though, is that after he said that, I couldn’t even let out a proper “Thank you.” It was a mixture of schoolgirl giggling and hyperventilating with the weakest “thank you” I’ve ever said in my life.

The other biggest regret is that I didn’t get to take a photo with him! Urgh! Peniana, you’re so stupid!

After that, I asked my friend to take me back to the middle bar so that I wouldn’t make a fool of myself more than I just did.

George Fiji, if ever you’re reading this, you probably don’t remember the night I’m talking about, but I just want to say thank you for your warmth, your vibes, and your music.

If you haven’t already, make sure you check out his new album, Indigo!
