A 36-year-old Chinese man has been labelled “China’s most stubborn man” after taking the national college admission exam for 16 consecutive years in attempts to get into the prestigious Tsinghua University, his dream University.
The man, identified as Tang Shangjun has been trying to get into Tsinghua University since 2009 without success. He had scored a mediocre 372 points out of 750, which was too low to get into his dream school. However, he kept trying until he got a respectable 625 points, which was more than enough to secure admission to several universities in his home province of Guanxi. However, he wasn’t good enough for his chosen major at Tsinghua University.
So he kept at it, year after year, ignoring all other universities, but never quite reaching the level required to get into his desired faculties at Tsinghua University.
