Britney Spears is opening up about a traumatic event that she has kept hidden for twenty years.
The pop star, 41, will disclose in her soon-to-be biography The Woman in Me that she conceived a child while dating Justin Timberlake but chose to terminate it.
She writes in the book: “If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.”
“To this day, it’s one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life,” Spears wrote of her abortion procedure.
Following their divorce in 2002, Spears and Timberlake had two sons: Sean Preston, now 18 years old, and Jayden James, 17, who they welcomed into the world with her second husband, Kevin Federline.
On October 24th, Spears will release her much-awaited memoir.
