We’ve all been there—out shopping with Mom or Dad, you lock eyes on something so cool, you just have to have it. You ask, your hopes skyrocket… and then—BOOM!—they hit you with a sarcastic one-liner that basically means “Not a chance!”
Well, that’s exactly what went down for 13-year-old Samuel Affleck when he hit up a sneaker convention in L.A. with his millionaire dad, Ben Affleck. The young sneakerhead spotted a fresh pair of Dior kicks priced at a jaw-dropping $6,000 and thought, Why not ask Dad to cop these for me?
Ben’s response? A classic dad-move:
“That’s a lot of lawns you’ve got to mow there. You only like those ’cause they’re expensive.”
Despite Samuel’s efforts to persuade his father the response still came out negative.
If that ain’t a universal parent answer, I don’t know what is! Now , let’s be real celebrities usually go all out for their kids, dropping serious cash on whatever their hearts desire. New gadgets? Done. Designer fits? No problem ..You Want $6000 for a pair of sneakers ?sure thing kiddo . But Ben? Our Batman star is built differently he isn’t about the money he’s all about hardwork.
And honestly? I respect it not only does it teach Samuel that money doesn’t grow on trees (or Batcaves), but it’s also just peak Dad Energy
