Yes! No one is perfect! and we all have flaws but NEVER try to justify the abuse with imperfection, thinking “Oh no, they’ll change”- what if they never do, and it becomes too late?
Never tolerate abuse if it’s happening to you!
Abuse can take many forms, each with its own characteristics and consequences. Here are three types of abuse:
- Physical Abuse: This involves the use of physical force that may result in bodily injury, physical pain, or impairment. eg. Hitting, slapping, punching, kicking, burning, or using weapons.
- Emotional/Psychological Abuse: Involves behaviours that harm a person’s self-worth or emotional well-being. Eg. Verbal abuse, constant criticism, manipulation, intimidation, and gaslighting.
- Sexual Abuse: Any non-consensual sexual act or behaviour like rape, sexual assault, molestation, unwanted touching, and sexual harassment.
Recognizing and addressing these forms of abuse is critical for the well-being and safety of individuals. If you or someone you know is experiencing any form of abuse, it is important to seek help from trusted sources, such as local authorities, support organizations, or healthcare providers.
