This is a tale as old as time, a song as old as rhyme.
But seriously though, if this hasn’t happened to you then you were probably never bullied in school just to have a proper glow up into adulthood.
It all starts the same way.
You’re a kid in school who got bullied by either the same person or different people and it got stuck in your head since then, but then you grew up and you learned how to do your hair in different hairstyles, started changing your style a bit, and had a hell of a glow up!
Then people you didn’t expect to notice you are now noticing you, messaging you, even trying to get your number????
It’s your typical scenario of taking nice people for granted only to notice them when they fit the status quo.
If that ever happens to you and you’re not exactly sure what to do, here are a few suggestions.
- You can ignore them. If they treated you bad in school, chances are they’ll treat you bad now.
- If you genuinely want to make them a part of your life, make sure that they’re not the cocky A-holes that they were back in school
- Confront them on their bad behaviour towards you, especially if you still haven’t forgiven them for it completely
- Make sure they know you’re not the same kid they used to make fun of before and that you’re a mature adult now that needs to be respected and treated like an adult
If you have any suggestions yourself, then add them to the list.
