It’s pretty satisfying getting rid of insects from your home, whether you’re using bug spray or a broom, but one man learned the hard way that bug spray may not always be the best way to get rid of them.
Perhaps this story is a reason to not end the life of an innocent bug though, as a man blew up his apartment trying to kill a cockroach with bug spray. The unfortunate incident was reported early on Sunday (10 December) in the city of Kumamoto on the island of Kyushu.
Shortly before midnight, the man spotted a cockroach inside his apartment and knew it immediately had to go.
The Mainichi Shimbun newspaper reported that the 54-year-old man sprayed a massive amount of bug spray in an attempt to wipe out the roach.
Just a minute after the man tried to kill the cockroach, an explosion went off, blowing out a balcony window.
Now if you see a roach, please go easy on the spray.
