We are all used to seeing a turquoise-coloured lake, aren’t we?
Well, the Coral Coast of Western Australia, occupies a stunning and vibrant Pink Lake. It is called the Hutt Lagoon.
It is a 70-squared kilometre lake and contains carotenoid-producing algae, commonly used cosmetic products, food colouring, etc. which give it an incredible pink colour.
The Hutt Lagoon is home to some of the world’s largest microalgae production plants and is also where brine shrimps are found (usually used for prawn farms and fish feeds)
In case you are planning on a trip down to the lake, you might want to make sure you have no open cuts because the lake is very salty and can be painful.
But it’s always great to pack your floaties if you’re thinking of getting all soaked!
