A Crocodile has become pregnant all by herself, becoming the first case of ‘ Virgin birth’ among crocs.
I first thought this Croc went for a little swim about and found a mate, NOPE the crocodile in question is a Zoo Croc and has no connection with other Crocs. The Zoo is in Costa Rica and Mama Croc created a fetus that shared 99.9% of its genetic makeup, which basically means the baby looks like mommy.
Scientists have observed ” Virgin Birth ” in birds, Fish and other reptiles, but this is the first documented case of the Crocodile species.
Glad to see that world still has its mystery, way to go world.
