Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has weighed in on a potential reboot, suggesting Jenna Ortega and Jacob Elordi would be a “perfect” fit for Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.
Fifteen years after introducing moviegoers to Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) as the director of the 2008 film, Hardwicke is looking to the future of the franchise. During a watch-along with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, she gave two young actors her stamp of approval when the host suggested them to play the franchise’s star-crossed lovers.
She expressed enthusiasm about Elordi’s suitability for Edward, citing his recent film Saltburn, and praised Ortega, known for her role in Wednesday, as an “amazing” choice for Bella.
