Parents are upset with an Australian high school teacher because they believe the teacher is acting like a cat in front of students.

Reports say she wore cat ears, asked students to call her “Ms. Purr,” hissed at them, and even licked her hand. Some parents are upset, claiming she made a student purr for a lollipop and growled at kids who weren’t paying attention.

She forces the children to call her Miss Purr and cat screeches and growls when they don’t listen,

one parent told The Courier-Mail

The strange story spread quickly online and even caught the attention of Queensland’s Department of Education. They told the media that the school knows about parents’ concerns and is taking action.

During the peak of the controversy, Australia’s 7News reported that the teacher denied all the accusations. She said she asked students to call her “Miss Purr” because her initials are P.R.R. Later, the Courier-Mail reported that she was no longer working at the school, even though many teachers and the teacher’s union supported her.
