This is a common argument people use when the State of Origin fans come out of the woodworks during Origin season.
I mean, what can I say? Fijians love rugby in any and every way, shape, or form, but when it comes to Origin season, Origin fans tend to become extremely unbearable.
The rivalry between NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons is entertaining banter at best, but those who are not fans tend to find the banter incredibly annoying.
I’m going to be honest here, most Origin fans in Fiji have never even been to Australia let alone one of the states, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not allowed to be fans.
There are a lot of Fijians that are fans of Super Rugby teams but have never been to the countries some of the teams are from.
With that being said, whether you’ve been to Australia or not, you go ahead and cheer your little hearts out, and if you’re still using that as an argument to throw shade at Origin fans, then your argument is whack, boring, and it’s probably the reason your friends don’t laugh at your jokes.
