Thousands of lives could be saved by a brilliant new invention from a small Australian firm that uses a substance frequently found in children’s toys.
In southeast Victoria, Tarmac Linemarking is testing its new photoluminescent lines on a 1-kilometre length, and the results have gone viral.
The lines’ covering emits light that it then gathers and stores throughout the day to produce a brighter marking at night.
The local Australian business is confident that the device may be utilized to improve road safety as well as that of dark parking lots, footpaths, and boat ramps.
Additionally, the state government is considering upgrading the reflective markings and installing LED-lit pavements close to intersections.
