Liam Payne, the former One Direction member, has died at the age of 31 in Argentina after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, according to police.
In their statement, authorities reported finding Payne’s body after responding to a 911 call in the upscale Palermo neighborhood.
Payne gained international fame as part of the beloved boy band formed on the X Factor TV show in 2010, alongside Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.
Just earlier this month, he attended a concert in Argentina featuring his former bandmate Niall Horan.
Police in Buenos Aires initially responded to reports of an “aggressive man” possibly under the influence of drugs and alcohol at a hotel. When they arrived, they heard a loud noise from an interior courtyard, where they found Liam Payne’s body. An investigation is underway, and the director of emergency medical services stated that he had suffered serious injuries, and an autopsy would be conducted. The UK Foreign Office confirmed it was in touch with Argentinian authorities about the death but provided no further details. Just hours before the incident, Payne posted on Snapchat about enjoying a lovely day in Argentina. ðŸ˜
