A woman from Ohio, USA wed her own self, the love of her life!
At her retirement community, Dorothy “Dottie” Fideli, 77, married herself in a special ceremony to express her love for herself.
“This is something new for me,” she said. “This is something I’ve always wanted, so it’s emotional for me.”
Fideli and Fideli were once wed in a quick courthouse ceremony in 1965, but they later got divorced.
“I was doomed before I even started because I was wearing a black dress”, she said.
She affirmed, “I have been with myself for 40 years,” and added that while attending church, she had the epiphany that she should “do something special” for herself.
After watching a woman do something similar on a talk program, the mother of three’s neighbours gave her the inspiration to get married to herself.
“I now have another opportunity to pursue something that will make me happy”, she said.
