We’re so used to hearing “If you go to school, you’ll be successful” or “if you work in an office you’re successful” but the truth of the matter is, if you’re hard-working and if you persevere, YOU WILL BE SUCCESSFUL NO MATTER WHAT PATH YOU CHOOSE TO TAKE IN LIFE, and Maciu Petero is a great example of this.
Meet Maciu Petero, a humble and determined young man from Nawi village, Buca Bay, Cakaudrove, who began farming at a young age. driven by hard work and determination, Petero would spend weeks, sometimes months, camping alone on his farm to ensure he achieved his targets and goals.
“This year, in March, his family and relatives celebrated his 21st birthday. What was so astonishing was that he told his family he would buy two bulumakau for the party, and he invited the entire village to celebrate with him” Rafael(Petero’s uncle) shared.
Rafael also shared on his post about his nephew that Petero had just purchased a twin cab to help him transport his farm produce to Savusavu.
“At such a young age, he remarked that all of this was made possible through land utilisation. To all the young men and women out there who are unsure of what to do, why not consider farming as an option? Success in farming comes with wisdom and perseverance.”- Rafael
